Here's another yummy Mango Smoothie I whipped up the other day with variations to one I posted a few months ago. I made this one without my usual addition of plain low fat Greek yogurt, so maybe it could be classified more officially as a slushy but, call it what you will, it was delicious, very refreshing, and low in calories.
Honey Mango Smoothie Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of chopped mango - fresh or frozen
- 3 oz of Chobani Greek Yogurt - plain or vanilla (actually yogurt can be optional)
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tsp honey
- a squirt of lime juice
- half a dozen ice cubes
Combine in your Smoothie Blender. Process until smooth. Serve immediately, and enjoy!

Sometimes, I think adding dairy (the yogurt, in this case) causes the mango to lose some of its rich flavor and sweetness, though it will obviously be a smoother, creamier consistency. If the mango is not frozen, it will certainly blend easily without the yogurt. The addition of the yogurt will give you more protein. I also think the lime juice helps to bring out some more flavor of the mango.
So as you can see, you can play with the options a little. No matter what you decide you like the best, this is a healthy and refreshing Honey Mango Smoothie. Of course you can also use Florida Mangoes, but I am now sold on the Honey Mango, or Champagne Mango for its sweetness and less fiberous consistency.
